A wedding brand must feel romantic and still look professional. Here is how we balanced both for Troukoors, a South African wedding magazine, shop and directory.

Who Is Troukoors?

More Than a Wedding Magazine

Troukoors is a South African wedding brand that goes well beyond a magazine. Its website brings together a blog, an online shop and Troukoors TV. It also offers photo sessions, wedding planning and a directory of service providers.

Much of the content is in Afrikaans. As a result, the brand speaks directly to couples planning their big day.

Who the Website Serves

Two audiences use the website. First, engaged couples browse for inspiration, advice and products. Second, wedding service providers want to reach those couples.

The Design Brief — What Troukoors Needed

A Clean-Cut, Professional Look

The client wanted a clean-cut, professional website. First, it had to present the brand with credibility. At the same time, it had to keep the soft, romantic feel that couples expect from a wedding brand.

Five Priorities That Shaped the Build

Five priorities guided the design from the start.

  • Simple navigation. The brand offers many things. Therefore, visitors needed clear routes to each section.
  • An elegant brand look. Blush pink, warm beige, white and gold accents had to feel soft yet polished.
  • Clear paths to key sections. The shop, blog and planning services each needed a prominent entry point.
  • Audience growth. A newsletter signup and an Instagram feed had to keep visitors connected.
  • A smooth mobile experience. Many couples browse wedding ideas on their phones.

The Strategy — Designing for Couples and Service Providers

Troukoors has many sections, so structure came first. Therefore, we placed the logo in the centre of the menu. Seven clear links surround it. As a result, the header stays calm and easy to scan.

A Soft, Elegant Look

A wedding brand needs emotion, but a professional site needs order. Instead of choosing one, we balanced both. White space and clean typography provide the structure. Floral imagery and a soft colour palette then add the romance.

Articles about venues, dresses and cakes answer real questions. As a result, well-structured pages can help couples find them through Google. Consistent headings also make the content easier for search engines to read.

A Walkthrough of the Troukoors Website

The elegant Troukoors logo sits in the centre of the menu. Beside it, visitors then find Tuisblad, Blog, Winkel, TV, Fotosessies, Diensverskaffers and Kontak. Every main section is one click away.

Hero Image and Welcome Section

First, a full-width hero image opens the homepage. Soft florals, tulips and styled details set the tone immediately. Below it, a short welcome section introduces the brand. It also links straight to the shop.

A heartfelt quote about beauty then sits under the introduction. It reinforces the emotional side of the brand.

Three image tiles sit on a warm beige band. They also introduce the team, the photo sessions and Troukoors TV. As a result, visitors discover the wider brand without searching.

Newsletter Signup

A framed floral banner invites visitors to sign up for the newsletter. It stands out clearly, yet it still matches the soft design. Over time, it helps the brand build its own audience.

Winkel, Blog and Beplanning Tiles

Three more tiles lead to the shop, the blog and the planning services. Each one also carries a simple “klik hier” prompt. Therefore, the next step is always obvious.

A photo strip closes the page and invites visitors to follow the brand on Instagram. Finally, social icons link to Facebook, Instagram, email, Pinterest and YouTube. This keeps visitors connected beyond the website.

Service Provider Directory and Contact

The Diensverskaffers page helps couples find wedding professionals. Meanwhile, it gives those professionals a clear place to showcase their work. Finally, the Kontak page offers a simple way to get in touch.

Mobile Experience

The layout adapts to phones and tablets. Text stays readable, while images scale cleanly. As a result, couples can browse wedding ideas from anywhere.

Brief vs Delivery

The table below compares the website goals with the design solutions we delivered.

Website Goal Design Solution
Professional look A clean layout with clear typography and generous white space
Brand feel A soft palette of blush, beige and gold with floral imagery
Easy navigation A centred logo with seven clear menu links
Clear paths to key sections Image tiles for the shop, blog, planning, team, photo sessions and TV
Audience growth A newsletter signup, an Instagram strip and social icons
Service provider visibility A dedicated Diensverskaffers page
Mobile use A responsive layout that works on phones and tablets

Google increasingly answers questions directly in search results. Therefore, clear structure matters more than ever. We use descriptive headings, short paragraphs and organised content throughout.

As a result, articles are easier for readers and search engines to understand. This matters for wedding content in particular, because couples ask specific questions. For instance, they ask what a venue includes or how to choose a cake.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a magazine or directory website project take?

The timeline depends on the number of pages, the amount of content and the approval process. However, clear briefs and prompt feedback usually keep a project moving smoothly.

What should a wedding or directory website include?

It should include clear navigation, inspiring imagery and well-organised content categories. In addition, it needs a service provider directory, a simple contact page and a mobile-friendly layout.

Why does mobile responsiveness matter for wedding websites?

Many couples browse wedding ideas on their phones. Therefore, a layout that adapts to smaller screens keeps visitors reading and exploring.

How does a blog-led website support SEO?

Each article targets a question people actually search for. As a result, a steady stream of helpful content builds visibility over time.

What is the difference between a brochure website and a content-led website?

A brochure website presents basic information about a business. A content-led website, however, publishes helpful articles that attract visitors and keep them engaged.
